Stop the sulking.

The only 'positive' to come from my mother dying when I was 15 is a permeating awareness of life's fragility.

Anyone I know can get cancer tomorrow, or be killed in a car accident. They can.

I'm not immune to tragedy.

Neither are you.

Tomorrow the police might knock at your door with terrible news of a loved one. That stuff doesn't just happen to 'other' people.

So.

Is that fight really worth it?

Are you really going to spend your night in the other room, or as close as you can possibly get to the edge of the bed, sulking?

...

Say sorry, pash hard, and move forward.

  1. We all need a little reminder every now and again not to waste our precious time together.

I usually get over it by turning away and blowing out one of those deep breathes where you let your tongue stick out and your lips vibrate and spit goes everywhere, surprisingly relaxing :)

  2. I've heard of a couple who used to break into silly dances whenever they had a fight, which I thought was an awesome idea! Until I heard next that they've since broken up. Sad face.

But I definitely agree! I never bother wasting energy on holding grudges. Chances are, give me half an hour and I'll have forgotten what we were fighting about anyway!
